The world's richest man, Elon Musk, has caused a stir in UK politics. By posting one after the other on the social media platform X, he has fiercely targeted Prime Minister Keir Starmer and the Labour government.

After these allegations by Elon Musk, the issue of child grooming gangs has once again come into discussion in Britain. Now there is a demand for a fresh investigation into this. Elon Musk alleged that Keir Starmer failed to act decisively on the grooming gang case during his tenure as public prosecution head.

Accused of protecting Starmer

Musk accused Starmer of allowing rape gangs to exploit vulnerable girls without facing justice. Musk called it a failure of government and said the Crown Prosecution Service led by Starmer failed to deliver justice.

Elon Musk also targeted UK Home Department minister Jesse Phillip. Musk said that Phillip had defended Starmer by rejecting the demand for a public inquiry into the alleged grooming scandal in Oldham.

Britain rejected the allegation

Musk called Jesse Philip's decision politically motivated to save Starmer. He said that this was an attempt to hide the failure of the system. Elon Musk has demanded a fresh national level investigation in this matter. He said that the Labor government should hold general elections as soon as possible.

Elon Musk even called Philip a supporter of rape and genocide. However, the Labour government immediately rejected these allegations. UK Health Secretary Wes Streeting called them misinformed. Starmer was defended by saying that in 2013, while he was DPP, he had created new guidelines to prevent sexual abuse of children.

What is the grooming gang scandal?

  • The grooming gang scandal is a controversial topic in UK politics. After investigations in cities like Rotherham, Rochdale and Telford, a case of sexual abuse of children on a large scale came to light. The people who carried out this incident were of Pakistani origin. This is why it is also called Pakistani grooming gang or Pakistani rape gang.
  • Public authorities and investigative agencies are accused of ignoring or downplaying abuse for fear of being labelled racist. The Oldham Inquiry in 2022 found serious failings but no evidence of organised abuse. Far-right figures Tommy Robinson and Nigel Farage, who spoke out against these failures, were arrested for inciting anti-immigrant sentiment.
