NEET UG Result 2024: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has talked about taking action against the officials of the National Testing Agency (NTA). The Education Minister said on Sunday, "Any kind of irregularity in the NEET case will not be spared. Any tampering with the future of the children will not be tolerated."
The Education Minister also expressed his displeasure at the NTA and said that if anyone is found guilty in the NTA, he will not be spared. The minister said that the NTA, which conducts the NEET exam, needs reforms.
"Re-examination of 1,563 candidates has been ordered on the recommendations of the Supreme Court. Some irregularities have been found at two places. I assure the students and parents that the government has taken this seriously," Pradhan told ANI.
He said, "Even senior NTA officials will not be spared if found guilty. A lot of reform is required in NTA. The government is concerned about this, no guilty will be spared, they will get the harshest punishment." NTA told the Supreme Court on Thursday that the scorecards of 1,563 candidates who got 'grace marks' in the NEET-UG exam will be canceled and the candidates will get a chance to take the exam again on June 23 and the results will be declared before June 30.
The NTA told a bench of Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta that a committee has been constituted to review the results of over 1,563 candidates who were given "grace marks" to compensate for the loss they suffered while appearing in NEET-UG.
The NTA said, "The committee has decided to cancel the scorecards of 1563 NEET-UG 2024 candidates who were awarded grace marks and these students will be given the option to appear for the exam again." It added, "The exam will be held on June 23 and the results will be declared before June 30."
Questions raised about many things in the 2024 NEET-UG exam
Many student organizations have protested on the issue of 2024 NEET-UG exam. There have been allegations regarding NEET-UG that the marks of some students were increased and due to this a record 67 candidates have secured top ranks with full marks this time. Grace marks were given to more than 1,500 students to compensate for the loss of time due to delay in the examination at six examination centers, which is under question.
