New Delhi. The festival of Vijayadashami is being celebrated with great pomp across the country today. On Dussehra, a festival symbolizing the victory of good over evil, effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakaran and Meghnad were burnt across the country. Vijayadashami was celebrated with fervour from Delhi to Kashmir.
President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi burnt Ravana in Madhavdas Park of Red Fort. During this, a grand program was organized in the presence of both and all the three effigies symbolizing evil were burnt.
Dussehra was also celebrated with great pomp in Jammu and Kashmir. Effigies of Ravana, Meghnad and Kumbhakarna were burnt in Doda, Jammu.
A 30 feet tall effigy of Ravana was burnt at S.K. Stadium in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir.
