Delhi Latest News: Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva has taken a tough stand on the controversy over the fish markets of Chittaranjan Park (CR Park). He said that everyone should respect the sanctity of temples and the fish traders of CR Park have always played a positive role in this direction. Sachdeva condemned a video posted on social media by Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra, in which questions were raised about fish markets. The BJP leader termed it a 'political conspiracy to disrupt community harmony'.

Virendra Sachdeva said in his statement that the fish markets of CR Park are legally allotted and they meet the needs of the area. He stressed that the fish traders not only maintain high levels of hygiene in the area but also regularly participate in the social and religious activities of CR Park. Sachdeva praised the role of the traders and said, "These people not only earn their livelihood but also maintain harmony with the community."

Question on Mahua Moitra's video

The controversy started when TMC MP Mahua Moitra posted a video on social media, in which objections were raised about fish markets. The Delhi BJP president termed it a 'conspiracy of some political vested elements' and said that this video seems to have been deliberately prepared to harm community harmony. He strongly condemned the incident and demanded immediate and strict action from the Delhi Police.

Attempts to spoil harmony are reprehensible- Virendra Sachdeva

Sachdeva further said in his press statement, "The fish market of CR Park and the traders there have been a part of this area for a long time. These people are earning their livelihood by respecting the sanctity of the temples. In such a situation, spreading such rumors or creating controversy is condemnable." He appealed to the police to investigate the matter thoroughly and take strict action against the culprits.

CR Park is considered to be the main center of the Bengali community in Delhi, where the fish market is a part of the local culture and needs. There has been a long history of harmony between fish traders and temples. This issue came into discussion after Mahua Moitra's video surfaced, to which the BJP has reacted sharply. At the same time, there has been a reaction from the Aam Aadmi Party as well.

Ignoring Bengal's culture will cost BJP heavily - Saurabh Bhardwaj

AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj said, "I believe that the Bengali community in Chittaranjan Park is the most educated and intelligent people. Ignoring the culture of Bengal will cost BJP heavily. In the courtyard where Maa Durga is worshipped, fish and non-vegetarian food is also available. They eat non-vegetarian food during Navratri. This is their culture."

Saurabh Bhardwaj further said, "DDA has allotted those shops to fish vendors and you threaten and intimidate them there, this is not right. Why does BJP try its power only on poor people? There are so many 5 star hotels in Delhi, if you have courage then go inside those 5 star hotels. Why is vegetarian food not being prepared inside five star hotels during Navratri?"
