The condition of air pollution in Delhi-NCR may have improved a bit compared to earlier, but seeing the way it still remains in the dangerous category, the Supreme Court has decided to continue GRAP-4 (Graded Response Action Plan) for the time being. It has also said that it will check the condition of air pollution on Monday i.e. 25 November and see whether GRAP-4 was implemented effectively or not. Only after that will it take any decision on removing or not removing GRAP-4.
Delhi government and police reprimanded
The bench of Supreme Court judges Abhay S. Oka and A. George Masih heard the matter again on Friday on the issue of increased air pollution in Delhi-NCR. Along with this, the Delhi government and Delhi Police were also reprimanded for the entry of heavy vehicles in Delhi. The court said that when heavy vehicles cannot enter Delhi under the restrictions of Grape-4, then how are vehicles entering.
The court expressed displeasure over the laxity
The court expressed displeasure over the laxity shown in enforcing the restrictions of Grape-4. Along with this, the court directed the Delhi Police to set up checkpoints on all 113 entry routes to Delhi. It also sought the recording and details of CCTV cameras installed on 13 entry routes for heavy vehicles. During this time, the court has also constituted a team of advocates to investigate these 13 entry routes, which will investigate all these routes and submit its report to the court on Monday.

During this time, the issue of stubble burning in Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh also came up in the court. On this, the court asked the Center to provide details. It also told the states that the responsibility of curbing air pollution is not only of the Center but the states also need to work ahead in this direction. While hearing the case of air pollution, the court got angry when it was told that despite the imposition of GRAP-4, heavy vehicles continued to enter Delhi freely. Anyway, about 20 percent of the pollution in Delhi-NCR is considered to be caused by pollution caused by vehicles.

Parents' demand rejected
