You are playing a strong role in Saavi. After this your film Hero Heroine will be released. You don't want to play glamorous roles in films?

Yes, I don't want to do side roles or glamour roles. When I came to know that Bhatt Sir (Mukesh Bhatt) is making this film, I went to his office and requested him to take me in this film. In this, I am playing the role of a wife who breaks the jail and brings her husband back. I have worked.

Does it ever come to your mind that if you had worked more as an actress, you would have been in a better position?

I did the film Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyon at the age of 17. I came to Mumbai from Delhi. I didn't know anything then. Now I have confidence. I have worked very hard. I had an arranged marriage after my first film. My parents didn't want me to act after marriage. I always thought that I will not do anything that will make them sad. Today when I see pride in their eyes, I feel happy.  

Why did you feel it necessary to step out of your production house and ask for work?

It is not easy. Bhatt sahab is a nice person, but I know that others will laugh that she is from T-Series and yet she has come to us asking for work. People do not understand that I and T-Series are different. I am making a career in acting with hard work. I have moved ahead only by struggling.

While selecting a role, do you keep in mind that your son should be able to watch those films?

He encourages me. There is a joy on his face when he sees my work. He himself plays games, so he is very curious to know how I am going to break the jail in this film.
