According to the information, it is an anti-ship ballistic cruise missile. Its range is up to one thousand kilometers. According to the Defense Ministry, all the sub-systems of the missile performed as expected and successfully accomplished the objectives of its primary mission. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has also congratulated DRDO on this success.

Missile equipped with advanced software

The Defence Ministry said the missile followed its path using point navigation and demonstrated its capability by flying at various heights and speeds. The missile is also equipped with advanced avionics and software. The ministry further said the Defence Research and Development Organisation conducted the first test of the Long Range Land Attack Cruise Missile (LRLACM) from a mobile articulated launcher from the Integrated Test Range Chandipur in Odisha.

These companies prepared the missile

The missile's performance was monitored by multiple range sensors like radar, electro-optical tracking system and telemetry. Senior DRDO scientists and senior officers of the three services were present during the test. The missile has been developed in collaboration with Bengaluru-based Aeronautical Development Establishment, DRDO and other Indian industries. Hyderabad-based Bharat Dynamics Limited and Bengaluru-based Bharat Electronics Limited are also part of the project.

Missiles can also be launched from ships

According to officials, this missile can be launched from land using a mobile articulated launcher and from frontline ships through the Universal Vertical Launch Module system. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated DRDO, armed forces and industry on the successful test of the missile. He said that this will pave the way for indigenous cruise missile development programs in the future. Let us tell you that LRLACM is a mission mode project approved by the Defense Acquisition Council.
