Lucknow. The state government has completely banned statements made or posted by government servants in print, electronic, internet and digital media, in view of the uncomfortable situation created for the government.

This means that now criticizing the government will cost the employees heavily. If anyone does this, the government will take strict action against them. Also, action will be taken against those who leak information from government files.

Action will be taken on making wrong comments on government policies

As per the government order issued by Dr. Devesh Chaturvedi, Additional Chief Secretary, Appointment and Personnel Department, now if any state employee makes a wrong comment on the policies of the government or departmental decisions, action can be taken against him.

There is also a ban on writing absurd articles in newspapers or giving bytes in the media. Government employees can only write literary, artistic or scientific articles. There will be a ban on posting any comment or message on print, electronic, social media such as Facebook, X, WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram or any other internet media platform and digital media.

State employees will not be able to send articles to the newspaper

Under Rule 6 of the Employee Conduct Rules, a state employee will not own or operate a newspaper without permission. He will not send any article to a newspaper or magazine. He will not write or send any letter anonymously, in his own name or in someone else's name.

Rule 7 provides that no employee shall express any matter or opinion in a radio broadcast anonymously or in his own name which may criticise the decisions of the government. He shall not criticise any current or recent policy of the state, centre or other local authority which may create confusion in the relations between the governments or create problems in the relations between the governments. No officer or employee shall give any information to anyone without the orders of the government.
