Congress Lok Sabha Candidate Second List 2024: Congress has released the second list of Lok Sabha candidates. Congress also released the second list of candidates. Congress has announced the names of 43 candidates in the second list (Congress Candidate Second List 2024). In this, three names have been announced from Uttarakhand. Pradeep Tamta has been made the candidate from Almora. Whereas, Ganesh Godiyal has been made the candidate from Pauri. Congress has made Jeet Singh Gunsola its candidate from Tehri. There are two new faces in it. Ganesh Godiyal has been a former state Congress president and MLA. His way of working is very popular among the public.
Pradeep Tamta had won the election of Almora Lok Sabha seat in 2009 from Congress. But BJP candidate Ajay Tamta defeated him badly in the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections. However, Congress has expressed confidence in him this time too.
Congress has fielded Ganesh Godiyal from the Pauri Lok Sabha seat. Here in 2019, BJP leader Tirath Singh Rawat had won the election by a huge margin. Whereas Manish Khanduri, who contested the elections from Congress, stood second. Manish is the son of former CM Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri, who recently left Congress and returned to BJP.
Tirath Singh Rawat had won by about three lakh votes. Whereas in the Modi wave, the BJP had won the election in Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri by about three and a quarter lakh votes. From Almora, the BJP has given the responsibility of winning the elections for the third time to Ajay Tamta. Whereas Mala Vijayalakshmi Shah has again been made the candidate for the Tehri Lok Sabha seat. Ajay Tamta from Nainital Lok Sabha seat will get the responsibility of conquering the fort again. BJP has not yet declared its candidate for the Pauri Lok Sabha seat.
Of the 43 Lok Sabha candidates announced by Congress, 10 candidates are included from Madhya Pradesh. Whereas 12 candidates have been fielded from Assam. Seven Lok Sabha candidates have been announced from Gujarat, 10 from Rajasthan, and three from Uttarakhand. One candidate has been fielded from Daman Diu.
10 candidates in the Congress list are from the general category. While 13 backward classes, one scheduled caste, and one Muslim are included. 76 percent of the candidates are below 60 years of age.
