Chhath Puja 2024:  Chhath Puja, the great festival of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand, will start from November 5 and end on November 8. The festival will be concluded by offering Nahai-Khai on the 5th, Kharna on November 6, Sandhya Arghya on November 7 and morning Arghya on November 8. This four-day festival is dedicated to Sun God and Chhathi Maiya. During this, Thekua, seasonal fruits etc. are offered to Lord Sun as prasad and a 36-hour Nirjala fast is observed. Therefore, it is considered the most difficult fast.

Let us tell you that at the time of sunset and sunrise, one enters the water to offer Arghya. For this, one goes to rivers, ponds etc. Many people also go to small ponds built in parks etc. to offer Arghya. For this, these ghats are decorated beautifully, the beautiful view of which wins everyone's heart. Thousands of people gather at these ghats to offer Arghya.

However, if the water of these ponds or rivers is contaminated, it can cause a lot of harm to health. Apart from this, there is also a risk of accidents due to the fast flow or depth of water. Therefore, it is important that you keep some things in mind (Chhath Puja Mistakes) during Chhath Puja, so that you can protect yourself and your family. Let's know.

What things should be kept in mind while entering the water at Chhath Ghat?

  • If you are entering a river, keep an eye on its depth and do not cross the danger signboard. Police put up signboards in rivers and ponds that the water is deep beyond this limit. Do not cross that board, because the risk of an accident increases significantly there. Also, there are facilities for medical emergencies on the ghats. If someone gets hurt or an accident occurs, seek help from the administrative staff posted there.
  • In this festival, people also take a dip in the river or pond. However, even after this, some precautions should be taken. If the water is contaminated, it can cause infection. Anyway, many people go into that water together, so it is important to be careful. There is a risk of getting sick if water enters the eyes, nose or ears. Also, there is a risk of skin infection .
  • Therefore, try not to take a dip in the water if it is dirty and if you have to do so, then take care that the water does not enter your eyes, nose, ears and mouth. Also, after coming out of the pond, take a bath again after coming home and use some antibacterial soap .
  • Do not stay in wet clothes for a long time even at the ghat. Staying in wet clothes for a long time can cause skin infection. Apart from this, dry your hair and skin thoroughly after coming home. Bacteria grow easily in wet places.
