A major accident has taken place at Mahajan Firing Range in Bikaner, Rajasthan. According to reports, 2 army soldiers died in an accident while loading ammunition in a tank during a training exercise on Wednesday at Mahajan Field Firing Range in Bikaner. There is also news of a soldier being injured in this incident. It is being told that the injured soldier has been taken to Chandigarh by helicopter for treatment, while the bodies of the soldiers who lost their lives in the accident have been taken to Suratgarh Military Station. This is the second major accident within 4 days at Mahajan Firing Range.
'Blast happened in the charger while loading ammunition'
Giving information about the incident, Defense Spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Amitabh Sharma said that when the soldiers were loading ammunition in the tank, the charger exploded. He said, '2 soldiers died in the incident and another was injured.' He said that as soon as the information about the explosion was received, the local police reached the spot. CO of Lunkaransar (Bikaner) Narendra Kumar Poonia said, '3 soldiers were practicing with the tank. During this, 2 soldiers, Ashutosh Mishra and Jitendra, died due to the blast in the charger. At the same time, the injured soldier has been taken to Chandigarh by helicopter.'
Gunner Chandra Prakash Patel died on Sunday
According to CO Poonia, the bodies of the soldiers who lost their lives in the accident have been taken to Suratgarh Military Station. He told that Ashutosh Mishra was a resident of Deoria district of Uttar Pradesh, while Jitendra was a resident of Dausa district of Rajasthan. Let us tell you that this is the second major accident in the last 4 days at Mahajan Firing Range. Earlier, on Sunday, Gunner Chandra Prakash Patel died in an accident. Patel was on duty as a detachment commander in the gun battery during training. He was connecting the cannon to the towing vehicle when the cannon came backwards and he got injured. The defense spokesperson had told that the soldier was immediately taken to the field hospital by ambulance where doctors declared him dead.
