Char Dham Yatra: Movement on Kedarnath footpath will start in 4 days, snow has to be removed from only 3 KM:

Char Dham Yatra 2025: The work of removing snow from the footpath leading to Kedarnath Dham is going on at a fast pace. According to the administration, the snow will be removed in the next 4 days and passenger movement will start. This time there was less snow only in the area of 3 KM from Rambada to Lincholi, which has been completely removed. However, there is still 2 to 3 feet of snow on the footpath between Lincholi and Kedarnath, while there is 8 to ten feet of snow at the glacier point.

Teams of District Disaster Management Authority and Public Works Department (PWD) are busy in removing snow from the Kedarnath walking route. So far, snow has been removed from a six kilometer stretch from Rambada to Kuber Gadera via Badi Lincholi. Snow will be removed from the remaining three kilometer stretch in the next four days. After this, the supply of essential materials will start in the Dham through horses and mules.

Eight to ten feet of snow has accumulated.
This year there has been relatively less snowfall on the footpath, due to which the cleaning work is being completed quickly. However, eight to ten feet of snow has accumulated at the glacier point, which is being cut to make a path. The administration says that this work is being completed with the help of heavy machines and labourers.

Vinay Jhinkwan, Executive Engineer of PWD branch of District Disaster Management Authority, said that as soon as the snow is removed from the road, reconstruction material will be delivered to Kedarnath Dham. Along with this, the supply of food items and other essential items will also be started. As soon as the snow removal work is completed, the devotees participating in the Kedarnath Yatra will be able to reach the Dham safely.

The administration is working keeping in mind the
convenience and safety of the passengers. According to the Meteorological Department report, the weather is likely to be favorable in the coming days, due to which the work is expected to be completed on time. The Uttarakhand government and administration are finalizing all the preparations before the journey. Security forces and medical teams will be deployed considering the condition of the route.
