Aligarh News Today: Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) students created a ruckus in the premises of the VC office late last evening regarding attendance. After the ruckus by AMU students, the administration announced to resolve the attendance issue soon. During this time, some students started raising the demand of conducting student union elections in AMU which gradually increased. 

The demand for student union elections gained so much momentum that the students protested outside the VC (Vice Chancellor) office. During this, some students stopped the car of VC Naima Khatoon, due to which the situation became more tense. Seeing the protest increasing, the university administration called the police force on the spot. 

Case filed against 9 students.
Security personnel who reached the spot separated the students from the VC's car, only then the car reached the VC's residence. The university administration has taken a tough stand in the matter of stopping the car of AMU VC Naima Khatoon. The AMU administration has filed a case against the students who stopped the VC's car. 

A case has been registered against 9 students in this matter, some of whom are said to be outsiders. Apart from this, the AMU administration suspended some students with immediate effect.

Students are continuously protesting demanding student union elections in Aligarh Muslim University. Student union elections have not been held in AMU since 2018, due to which the anger of the students is increasing. Students say that their demands have been ignored for a long time. 

Proctor made serious allegations
AMU Proctor Wasim Ali condemned the incident that happened on Wednesday and said that this is a very bad incident. He said, "I was present there myself on the report that we received after the incident and on that basis we filed a case against 9 students yesterday and suspended 6 students. One of these students was the one who tried to stop the Vice Chancellor's car and tried to lie down. Strict action has been taken against all of them"

Proctor Waseem Ali said, "This kind of behavior will not be tolerated in any institution, especially in AMU." Waseem Ali also said that out of the eight-nine students involved in this, three students are not from the university and strict action will be taken against them too.

Proctor Wasim Ali alleged that these three together tried to spoil the atmosphere of the entire university. He said that some engineering students had come with the problem of attendance. These students were heard and the VC assured that this problem would be discussed in the DS meeting. 

According to Wasim Ali, after the assurance of solving the attendance problem, when these students left, the VC also started leaving. As the VC sat in her car at 6 in the evening, three outside boys and others tried to spoil the atmosphere and instigated other students. This created chaos at the spot. 

Students protest after Friday prayers
. Other students got angry after a case was registered against 9 students after the incident that happened last night in Aligarh Muslim University. After Friday prayers, the students gathered at Babe Syed Gate and protested fiercely. During this protest, the students demanded withdrawal of the case and holding of student union elections.
