UP Weather Update: The weather is at its peak in Uttar Pradesh. It is raining heavily in different parts of the state. This rain will continue today as well. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain at many places today as well. Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, 10 people have lost their lives in rain-related incidents.
According to the Meteorological Department, a warning of heavy rain has been issued at many places in UP in the next 48 hours. Very heavy rain is expected at some places in western Uttar Pradesh. During this time, a warning of lightning along with thunder has also been issued at some places. Orange and yellow alerts for rain have also been issued at many places in western UP. There is a possibility of strong surface winds blowing at a speed of 20-30 km per hour in the division.
Red alert for rain in these districts
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a red alert for extremely heavy rain in Bijnor, Rampur, Bareilly and Moradabad today. Apart from this, there is an orange alert for heavy rain in Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Hardoi, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Muzaffarnagar, Kasganj, Etah, Mainpuri, Amroha, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Sambhal, Badaun and surrounding areas. Whereas a yellow alert for rain has been issued in Basti, Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Gonda, Balrampur, Shravasti, Kanpur, Barabanki, Saharanpur, Shamli, Baghpat, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Noida, Bulandshahar, Agra, Firozabad, Etawah and surrounding areas.
10 people died in the last 24 hours
In view of the heavy rains, people have been advised to remain cautious today as well. Due to the rains, schools will remain closed today in Hamirpur, Firozabad, Kanpur Nagar, Kasganj, Pilibhit, Sitapur. Rain has become a disaster in many places. Due to the rains, 10 people died in the last 24 hours. Out of these, five people died in Mainpuri, two each in Jalaun and Banda and one person in Etah.
The weather department has issued warnings of very heavy rainfall, flash floods and other rain-related incidents in more than a dozen districts of Awadh and Rohilkhand regions. State Relief Commissioner GS Naveen Kumar said, 'In view of the recent rains, flood PAC/SDRF/NDRF teams have been deployed as per requirement for round-the-clock monitoring of heavy rainfall districts.
An average of 28.6 mm of rain was recorded in Uttar Pradesh during the last 24 hours. Out of the 75 districts of the state, 51 recorded excess rainfall. Hathras district recorded the highest rainfall of 185.1 mm.
