New Delhi. Kedarnath Delhi Controversy: Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee Chairman Ajendra Ajay hit back at Jyotirmath's Shankaracharya over claims of gold scam in Kedarnath temple. Actually, Jyotirmath's Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwarananda has claimed that 228 kg of gold has been stolen from the Kedarnath temple.
Reacting to this, Ajay told ANI that Swami Avimukteshwarananda's statement about the disappearance of gold in Kedarnath Dham is very unfortunate. He has challenged the Shankaracharya to present facts and evidence in this matter.
Challenge to Shankaracharya
ANI asked Ajendra Ajay to respond to Shankaracharya's claim of gold being stolen. To this he said, 'I respect Swami Avimukteshwarananda, but he keeps holding press conferences all day long... Creating controversy, spreading sensation and staying in the news has become Swami Avimukteshwarananda's habit. His statement on the disappearance of gold in Kedarnath Dham is very unfortunate. I request and challenge him to bring out the facts and evidence.'
Ajay gave this suggestion
Ajay also suggested that instead of making statements, Swami Avimukteshwarananda should contact the competent authority and demand an investigation. Ajay said, 'They should go to the authorities, present evidence and demand an investigation. If they don't trust the competent authority, they should go to the Supreme Court, High Court, file a PIL and demand an investigation if they really have evidence.'
A direct target on Congress government
Ajay further said, 'He has no right to hurt the dignity of Kedarnath Dham or create controversy over it. If he is doing this just to protest, create controversy and further the agenda of the Congress, then it is very unfortunate.'
Gold scam in Kedarnath? What did Swami Avimukteshwarananda claim
On Monday, July 15, Swami Avimukteshwarananda alleged that 228 kg of gold has disappeared from Kedarnath. He also alleged that a symbolic Kedarnath cannot be built on the Kedarnath temple being built in Delhi. The Shiv Puran mentions 12 Jyotirlingas with their names and locations. When the address of Kedarnath is in the Himalayas, how can it be in Delhi? There are political reasons behind this. Political people are entering our religious places.
Regarding the gold scam in Kedarnath, he claimed, "Why is that issue not raised? After the scam there, will Kedarnath be built in Delhi now? And then there will be another scam. 228 kg of gold is missing from Kedarnath. No investigation has been started. Who is responsible for this? Now they are saying that they will build Kedarnath in Delhi, this cannot happen."
