
In a major breakthrough, Kalahandi police of Odisha has busted an inter-state dacoit gang. Police arrested eight criminals involved in the recent robbery and seized Rs 3 crore 51 lakh cash, arms, cartridges and vehicles from them. The arrested accused have been identified as Tahir Ansari, Hussain Khan, Jasim Khan, Shamim Ansari, Basudev Gope, Pintu Alim and Anuj Kumar. All of them are residents of Ranchi district of Jharkhand.
3.51 crore rupees were looted from a liquor shop
Actually, on 30 January 2025, Rs 3.51 crore was looted from a liquor shop in Dharamgarh of Kalahandi district. The shop owner immediately informed the police. After carrying out the robbery, the robbers fled in a Bolero car. During the investigation, the police tracked the Bolero and found that it had reached Jharkhand.

During the investigation, Kalahandi police first arrested Siraj Ansari and Kameshwar Yadav. The rest of the accused had fled to Jharkhand. After this, Kalahandi police along with Jharkhand police arrested all the accused.
Director General of Police praised Kalahandi Police
Director General of Police Yogesh Bahadur Khurania praised the hard work and dedication of the Kalahandi police. He said, "The arrest of this gang will help in curbing interstate crimes. We have arrested 8 accused and recovered Rs 3.51 crore in cash and some weapons from them. During the investigation, we used technical methods like CCTV cameras, IPDRS etc. One of the accused had fully helped the gang in the robbery. We received a complaint of robbery from a liquor manufacturing factory on January 31, 2025.
All the accused are being interrogated
A case has been registered against the accused under BNS 310, 331, 6, 25, 27 Arms Act. Police are now interrogating the accused to find out what other crimes they have been involved in in Odisha or other states.
