Kanpur.  The by-election of Sisamau assembly constituency is still far away but new contenders are emerging within the BJP every day. Now a big leader associated with the area has put forward the name of former MLA Upendra Paswan. Earlier he had won the by-election of Ghatampur. Along with his name, the matter of giving ticket to a Dalit has been put forward.

On the other hand, Anil Shukla Warsi, husband of former MP and Minister of State for Women Welfare Pratibha Shukla, has also applied. There is a fierce caste tussle going on in the BJP for the ticket from Sisamau. In the last election, Salil Vishnoi had contested from here as a Vaishya candidate.

Upendra Paswan also staked claim

Through the workers' conference to be held on Thursday at BNSD Shiksha Niketan, he will again try to get ahead of the other contenders. However, there is also a line of Brahmin contenders. The reason behind putting forward the name of Upendra Paswan is also the claim that till date, among the BJP candidates, only Rakesh Sonkar has won on this seat, so he should be given the ticket.

This name is also considered important because the person who has put this name forward was also present in the last meeting with Suresh Khanna. With this name coming forward, the tussle going on at the regional level has also become clearly visible. However, there is already opposition to fielding a Dalit candidate.

The tussle started inside the party

It has become increasingly being said within the party that when Rakesh Sonkar contested from here, this seat was reserved but now it is general and a person from the general category should be given the ticket. Meanwhile, people from Kshatriya and Sindhi communities have also started visiting the Sangh office along with submitting their applications.
