New Delhi: Indian defense sector researchers are developing tactical missile systems on a large scale. In such a situation, the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) has approved the development of a new missile testing range in Andhra Pradesh. This will lead to the establishment of a new missile testing range in Nagayalanka area of Andhra Pradesh.

Approval received in 2018 itself

Government sources said on Sunday that the CCS, headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, took this decision last week. In Andhra Pradesh's Nagayalanka region, other processes related to this were approved on June 28, 2018, in collaboration with the state government and the Finance Ministry.

These missiles will be tested

Surface-to-air missiles, anti-tank missiles and DRDO's tactical missile systems will be tested in the new missile test range.

31 drones will be purchased from America

Earlier, the Cabinet Committee on Security had approved the construction of two nuclear submarines for the Navy, Army and Air Force and the purchase of 31 Predator drones from the US. In this meeting, major deals worth Rs 80 thousand crore were passed. Out of 31 drones, the Indian Navy will get 15 and the Army and Air Force will get 8 drones each. The Army and Air Force will deploy them in their two stations in UP.

DRDO will conduct missile testing on a large scale

The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) is preparing to test new generation missiles. DRDO has prepared a large-scale missile testing program. During this, conventional and strategic missiles will be tested. These tests will increase the country's defense capabilities unprecedentedly.

Why tests are necessary

These tests will not only prove to be a milestone for the existing missile system but will also lay the foundation for new generation missiles. These tests have become necessary due to the recently changed geopolitical situation. This test program will further strengthen India's deterrence capabilities.

Indian nuclear capable missiles

At present, India has a stockpile of more than 40 types of missiles. India tests most of its missiles from Abdul Kalam Island and Chandipur test range in Odisha. But now a new testing range will be developed in Andhra Pradesh. Some of the major missiles of India include Brahmos, Prithvi-2, Agni-1, Agni-2, Agni-3, Dhanush and Prahar. The special thing is that all the missiles of India are equipped with nuclear capability.
