News Topical, Digital Desk : A 76-year-old woman living in Mumbai's Vikhroli East area has filed a police complaint, leveling serious allegations against her daughter-in-law. The woman says her daughter-in-law's behavior has completely changed since the death of her son in November 2023. She constantly harassed her, abused her, and even deprived her of basic necessities.

According to the woman, she lived with her elder son's family in their Tagore Nagar home, but after her son's death, the atmosphere at home became tense. She said her daughter-in-law often quarreled over property rights and refused to feed her on time. Her daughters, who live nearby, were forced to care for her and sometimes took her to their home.

The woman further alleged that in January of this year, her daughter-in-law broke CCTV cameras installed by her younger son for her safety. The situation worsened in March, when her younger son was out of town. The woman claims that her daughter-in-law repeatedly forced her to leave the house, forcing her to flee to her daughter's home. When she tried to return home on March 24th, she was allegedly threatened and refused entry.

When the matter remained unresolved after negotiations, the victim approached the police. Vikhroli police subsequently registered a case under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007, and relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. According to the police, the investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.
