News Topical, Digital Desk : Police have successfully solved a major theft at the Om Sai Filling Station in Dalsarai village, under the Ramnagar police station area of Barabanki district in Uttar Pradesh. The most shocking incident in this case was that the perpetrator was not an outsider, but an employee of the petrol pump. According to the police, the accused has been identified as Monu Vishwakarma, who worked at the petrol pump filling up vehicles.
The incident is said to have occurred between 12:30 and 1:00 a.m. on April 13, 2026. That night, the accused took advantage of the situation and targeted the iron safe kept in the pump and stole a total of ₹9,11,180.
Suspicious activities seen on CCTV
Following the incident, the petrol pump operator informed the police, following which the Ramnagar police station and SWAT/surveillance team launched an investigation, recognizing the seriousness of the matter. Police examined CCTV footage from the scene and identified suspects based on technical evidence. During the investigation, police found Monu Vishwakarma's activities suspicious. After rigorous questioning, he confessed to the crime. Following his information, police recovered the entire stolen amount, ₹911,180, and an iron safe.
SP's strictness was revealed
The entire case was revealed by Additional Superintendent of Police, North, Vikas Chandra Tripathi. He stated that the police team's vigilance and prompt action made it possible to uncover such a massive theft. He also stated that the role of insiders cannot be ignored in such cases, so every aspect is taken into consideration during the investigation. The accused has been arrested and a case has been registered against him under relevant sections and further legal action is underway.
This incident has once again proven that sometimes the greatest betrayal lies hidden within the realm of trust. The police's proactive action has also demonstrated that no matter how cunning a criminal is, he cannot escape the clutches of the law.
