News Topical, Digital Desk : Did you know that the honey you consume as a "medicine" to improve your health and fight disease is actually slowly poisoning your body? Yes, the Food and Drug Administration in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, has uncovered such a "trade of death" that has shocked everyone. Here, banned "rice syrup" was being served to a large number of people under the guise of honey.

15,000 kg of counterfeit goods seized

On January 6th, a team from the Food and Drug Administration, led by Assistant Commissioner (II) Sunil Kumar, conducted a major raid on a warehouse. The team seized approximately 15,000 kilograms (15 tons) of honey imported from Haryana, estimated to be worth approximately ₹2.2 million in the market. Suspicious, the department immediately seized the honey and sent samples to a lab for testing.

Horrifying revelation in investigation report: 'Rice syrup' in honey

Now, the test report of this seized product has been released, and its results are extremely alarming. Lab testing has found that the honey was adulterated with large quantities of the banned substance "rice syrup." Food Commissioner Sunil Kumar stated that this honey is completely unsafe for human health.

What is the effect on health?

  • Increases blood sugar: Consumption of adulterated rice syrup can rapidly increase the blood sugar level in the body.
  • Weak immunity: It weakens the body's immunity.
  • Nutritional deficiency: Its continuous consumption can cause huge damage to the vital organs of the body.

Poison was being sold without brand and expiry date.

Officials said the honey containers seized by the department had no company markings, no expiration dates, and no mandatory labels. This is a complete gamble with human lives.

Case will be filed against the director of Tungnath Traders

Following this serious revelation, the department has swung into action mode. The department is now preparing to file a direct court case against Ankit Garg, the operator of Tungnath Traders, and other perpetrators of this racket. The perpetrators will also be fined heavily.
