Mau Rape Case: Police in Uttar Pradesh's Mau district have registered a case against a local Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and advocate for raping an 18-year-old girl. A woman has filed a case against former Bar Association president and Samajwadi Party leader Virendra Bahadur Pal in Mau's city police station under serious sections 115(2),351(2),352,123,64(2)(M), accusing him of rape. Since then, the accused advocate is absconding. The woman who has accused advocate Virendra Bahadur Pal of rape has been his colleague.
Two days ago, the said woman had also assaulted advocate Virendra Bahadur Pal in Mau's civil court, after which a high profile drama started in the court. It is worth mentioning that a few days ago, the said woman had accused another person of rape, who has been sentenced in the rape case by Mau's District and Sessions Court 15 days ago.

It is known that Advocate Virendra Bahadur Pal is also a leader of Samajwadi Party and his father Dayaram Pal has also been an MLC in BSP government. And at present he is the National Secretary of SP and in-charge of Uttarakhand. It is worth mentioning that the accused Advocate Virendra Bahadur Pal has gone to jail in the year 2015 in the case of leaking CPMT paper.

In this regard, CO City Anjani Kumar Pandey said that on 7 September, a woman filed a complaint alleging that she was beaten and raped, in relation to which a case has been registered under case number 291/24 in the relevant section and investigation is underway. Action will be taken on whatever comes out in the further investigation.

The woman has written in her complaint that the accused is an advocate. What is his relation with the Samajwadi Party? Further investigation will be done. The woman has also alleged that he mixed intoxicants in a cold drink and made her drink it and raped her. His criminal history is also being investigated. Action will be taken based on whatever facts have come to light.
