US President Donald Trump called on Jordan, Egypt and other Arab countries to accept as many Palestinian refugees from the Gaza Strip as possible to get as many people out of the war-torn region. He said he discussed his stance by phone with Jordan's King Abdullah II and would also speak with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

 

Trump said that I want them to accept as many people as possible. You are probably talking about 1.5 million people, but we want the entire area to be cleared and we can say that the war is over.

Trump congratulated Jordan on successfully accepting Palestinian refugees and told Abdullah, "I want you to take in more refugees because I look across the Gaza Strip right now and things are really, really bad there."

 

Initiative to build housing in separate place in Gaza Strip

"It could be temporary or long-term," the US president said of the mass displacement of Palestinians. The region of the world, which includes Gaza, has been facing multiple conflicts "over the centuries."

 

He then added, 'Something must be done, but this area has now turned into a complete destruction site. Almost everything is destroyed and people are dying.'

 

Trump said, 'So, I would like to call on some Arab countries to build housing for them (people of Gaza Strip) in a different place where they can live in peace.
