In a recent interview, Imran said that when he disappeared from the industry, he was actually in depression. Just wanted to hide himself from the world. He did not feel like doing any work. The result of this was that he did not come into the spotlight for many years.

The actor said this
while talking to Film Companion, Imran said - In those days I did not want to do anything. I was not interested in doing any work. I was able to function very little. Was able to process things. When you are in deep depression, you just wake up in the morning, brush your teeth, and take a bath. That too because these are monumental tasks. This has to be done to keep oneself clean. Even going to therapy appointments was a task for me.

"Nobody used to ask me till a week before the release of 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na'. If I had been roaming around on the road in those days, no one would have even come to me to click my photo. A week after the release of the film, people They started running behind my car. When the film did not do well, the same people who used to pat my back started ignoring me."

"In the year 2016-17, I started giving priority to my mental health. Becoming an actor can be an option for me, but mental health cannot be an option. Nowadays, I keep my health and mental health on priority. If I had not gone through depression, I would not have known how strong, capable, and healthy I am."
