Kalyanpur. Five people involved in the murder of Ajay Kamal, who was found dead near a tyre warehouse in Sachendi on Saturday, have been arrested. Ajay was murdered by his wife Akriti's family in connivance with another youth Bajrangi alias Mahavir. Bajrangi was also given Rs 50,000 for this. Akriti's family felt insulted by Akriti's inter-caste marriage and the comments made by Ajay's family. Ajay was kidnapped from a van on Friday evening and was strangled and thrown away.

This is the whole matter

The body of Ajay Kamal, a Bhisar and currently a resident of Chakarpur, was found near the tyre warehouse in Chakarpur, Sachendi. The post-mortem report confirmed that he was murdered by strangulation. Ajay's family members blocked the highway by placing his body on it.

On the complaint of Ajay's father Kanhai, a case was registered against nine people including his wife Akriti's family members under murder, rioting and SC/ST Act. During investigation of the case, the police arrested Akriti's father Raj Bahadur, brother Sharad, neighbour Meena, Satyam and Bajrangi alias Mahavir who were involved in the incident.

DCP Vijay Dhul said that Lalti Devi, mother of Ajay's wife Akriti and the driver of the Eco van involved in Ajay's murder are still absconding and are being searched for.

That's why Ajay was killed

DCP West Vijay Dhul said that during interrogation, the arrested accused told that Ajay and Aakriti had a love affair before marriage. Aakriti's family got her married to Samar Pratap, a resident of Surajpur village of Raniyan in Kanpur district on April 17, but a week after the marriage, she returned from her in-laws' house to her maternal home in Bhisar village. Two days later, she eloped with Ajay Kamal and got married and started living together by renting a room in Chakarpur.

Akriti's father Raj Bahadur said that Ajay's family members used to comment on his family regarding Akriti, due to which his family felt insulted. Therefore, they planned to kill Ajay Kamal.
