This shocking incident took place at a 'resort' near Marakkanam in Tamil Nadu, where a 6-year-old girl died after drowning in a 'swimming pool' while celebrating her birthday. Police gave this information on Thursday.
The girl was playing in her brother's swimming pool
Police said the girl was playing in the resort's swimming pool with her parents and 10-year-old brother. Later, the girl's mother took her to the room, but the girl came back again and slipped and fell into the swimming pool. Police said the security guard near the swimming pool rescued the girl and she was taken to a private hospital in Ganapathy Chettikulam near the Puducherry border, where doctors declared her dead.
The family went to Puducherry for holidays
According to the police, Kottakuppam police have registered a case. The girl's father Sushant Thoubal hails from Uttarakhand and works in a firm in Bengaluru. He had gone to Puducherry on a holiday with his family on January 26.
