Lucknow. Before expanding its organization, Congress is trying to increase its penetration in the deprived society and extremely backward class. In view of the upcoming assembly elections, Congress is moving ahead with its strategy. For this, the party will take the help of its old leaders from the deprived society and extremely backward class. Through special programs on their birth anniversary and death anniversary, Congress is trying to increase its activism among the people of a particular class as well as to raise new leaders from different communities.
The party is doing its homework before striking the caste balance through organisational expansion. In this series, preparations are being made for a special programme on the occasion of the death anniversary of freedom fighter and former MP Masuria Deen Pasi on 21st July.
State President Ajay Rai had recently held a meeting with senior officials of all frontal organisations, departments and cells and directed them to prepare an action plan for the six months. After this, their suggestions are being discussed through different meetings. Party sources say that efforts have been intensified to expand the Minority, Backward Class and Scheduled Caste departments.
Emphasis on activating workers among the deprived society from now onwards
There is an emphasis on activating workers especially among the deprived society. On the death anniversary of freedom fighter and former Congress leader Babu Jagjivan Ram, Congress had organized a community meal in deprived settlements on July 6 as part of the three-day 'Dalit Samvad' program. Now Congress will organize a special program in Lucknow on the occasion of the death anniversary of former MP Masuria Deen Pasi. For this, former MLA Indal Rawat and some other leaders are being given special responsibility.
