New Delhi. President Draupadi Murmu on Friday (July 6) awarded the Kirti Chakra posthumously to Captain Anshuman Singh. Captain Anshuman Singh 's wife Smriti was present at the ceremony to receive this honor. Smriti was very emotional during the award ceremony. Smriti's video went viral on social media. 

People expressed their condolences to Smriti who lost her husband at such a young age. At the same time, a person on social media has made an indecent comment against Smriti. The National Commission for Women has taken cognizance of this matter. NCW has demanded to register a case against this person.

Women's commission demanded action

This obscene comment has been made from an ex-handle named Ahmed. The National Commission for Women has written a letter to the Delhi Police demanding action against the man. The letter states that a case should be registered against this man under Section 79 of the Indian Justice Code and Section 67 of the IT Act. The Commission has asked the Delhi Police to submit a report in this regard within three days.

The National Commission for Women wrote in its letter that the section of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) provides for punishment of an act done with the intention of insulting the dignity of a woman. According to the law, a person who makes indecent remarks against a woman for the first time is liable to be imprisoned for up to three years and fined and those who commit the crime again are given more severe punishmentLet us tell you that Captain Anshuman Singh was posted as Regimental Medical Officer in the 403 Field Hospital of 26 Punjab Battalion on attachment to 26 Madras in Siachen Glacier in the month of July last year. On 19 July 2023, i.e. at 3.30 am on Wednesday, a fire broke out in the army's ammunition bunker due to a short circuit.Many soldiers were trapped in the bunker. Anshuman Singh entered the bunker to save the soldiers, where he got badly burnt. He died during treatment in Chandigarh.
