Washington: Former US President Donald Trump has said that before Narendra Modi became Prime Minister in 2014, there was constant change in leadership in India and there was a lot of instability.

In a podcast called 'Flagrant' with comedians Andrew Schultz and Akash Singh, Trump praised PM Modi and called him the nicest person who can be tough when needed.

Trump also talked about the success of 'Howdy Modi' in Houston, Texas in 2019. Trump was the US President at that time. He said, the crowd in the stadium swelled. People were going crazy and we were moving around...we were walking in the middle, waving to everyone.

In reference to Pakistan, Modi had said- I will do whatever is necessary

Trump also told how PM Modi told him that India can deal with Pakistan after America's support was offered. Without naming Pakistan, he said- We have had some such occasions when someone was threatening India. I said let me help. I have very good relations with those people. To this Modi said- I will do this. Whatever is necessary, I will do that. We have defeated them for hundreds of years... In his 88-minute long interview, Trump talked about his relationship with Modi for about 37 minutes.
