First Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko, who played an important role in the mineral agreement with the US, has been asked to lead the new government.
He has been nominated for the post of Prime Minister. While the current Prime Minister Denis Shamhal has been nominated as the Defense Minister. These nominations will be sent to the Parliament for approval.
President Zelensky is making important changes
Zelensky is making this reshuffle at a time when diplomatic efforts are being made to end the war with Russia. The Ukrainian President wrote on X on Monday, "We discussed concrete measures to increase Ukraine's economic potential, expand support programs for Ukrainians, and increase domestic weapons production. In this effort, we are making changes to the government."
Yulia got an offer to lead the government
He said that Yulia has been proposed to lead the government. Meanwhile, Zelensky spoke to US President Donald Trump over the phone and thanked him for supporting Ukraine. 39-year-old Yulia is an economist and has been the First Deputy Prime Minister since 2021. She recently played an important role in the mineral agreement with the US. While Denis has been the Prime Minister since March 2020.
