Potterville: The presidential election in America is getting interesting. Before the election, former President Donald Trump has made a big announcement. Trump has said that if he is elected to the top post of the country once again, he will make the process of conception through IVF (in-vitro fertilization) method free for women. However, Trump did not explain how his plan will work and how it will be funded.

'We want more children'

"I'm making an important announcement today that under the Trump administration, your government or your insurance company will pay for all the costs of IVF. Quite frankly, it's because we want more children," Trump said during an event in Michigan.

What is IVF method?

Under the IVF method, the process of fertilization between the sperm and the egg is done in the laboratory and the embryo formed from it is implanted in the woman's uterus. This method is very expensive. There is no guarantee of success of the IVF method. Many women wishing to become mothers have to undergo this process more than once to conceive.

Trump is the target

Trump, the Republican Party's candidate in the proposed presidential election in November, has made this announcement at a time when he is under attack from Democratic leaders for appointing those Supreme Court judges who gave a verdict that ended the constitutional right of women to abortion in America. Trump has come on the defensive on this issue and is presenting himself as a "strong advocate of women's reproductive rights".

In an interview with NBC before the program, Trump said that he would vote against the decision to set a six-week limit for abortion in Florida. He said, "I think the period of six weeks is too short. There should be more time for this. I will vote in favor that we need to be given more than six weeks." Trump had earlier described the decision of Florida's Republican Governor Ron DeSantis to sign the said law as a "terrible mistake". (AP)
