New York: A pop group has now entered the US presidential election. The matter is very interesting. Sweden's pop music group ABBA has asked former US President Donald Trump to stop using their songs in his election campaign rallies. However, Republican presidential candidate Trump's campaign team has said that they have permission to use ABBA's songs.

What did the pop group say?

"ABBA has recently become aware of some online videos circulating regarding unauthorized use of their music and videos at a Trump event," the band said in a statement. "ABBA and its representatives request that such content be taken down immediately. No request has been received from them, hence no permission has been granted," the statement said. "Waterloo", "The Winner Takes It All" and "Money, Money, Money" are some of ABBA's popular songs.

Trump's campaign team responded

A spokesperson for Trump's campaign team said that they have received the 'license'. The spokesperson said, "We received the 'license' to use ABBA's music through our agreement with BMI and ASCAP." It should also be noted here that, before the 2020 election, Bruce Springsteen, Rihanna, Phil Collins, Pharrell, John Fogerty, Neil Young, Eddy Grant, Panic! At the Disco, R.E.M and Guns N' Roses had also objected to Trump's use of their songs.

video surfaced

Svenska Dagbladet, a Swedish daily, said "The Winner Takes It All" was played at Trump's rally in Minnesota in July. Universal Music in Sweden said video had emerged of ABBA music being played at one of Trump's events. ABBA has 20 songs on the Billboard Hot 100, most of them from the 1970s and 1980s. They made a comeback in 2021, releasing the album "Voyage." (AP)
