Berlin: Cases of the Pox virus are increasing rapidly in many countries of the world. Now a statement by a WHO official has come out regarding Pox. According to officials, this is an old strain, it is not Covid. They say that its spread can be easily controlled.
WHO official Hans Kluge said about this, "We can deal with the Pox together and we should deal with it together." WHO further said, we will choose to establish a system to control it. And there should be a discussion on how to eliminate the Pox globally. Or we will get scared by it, how we should react to it in the coming time, it depends on us.
What are the symptoms?
WHO further said, this will prove to be an important test for Europe and the world. Ampox, a viral infection, causes pus-filled sores. It has flu-like symptoms, which are usually mild but can be fatal.
The Clade 1B variety of ampox has caused havoc globally, it spreads more easily than the regular variant. A case of this variant was confirmed last week. The spread of ampox is more in Sweden and Africa.
More than 100 cases were reported every month
Kluge said that at the moment our focus is on the new clade 1 strain, giving Europe a chance to refocus on the less severe clade 2. There has been an emphasis on diversity, including better public health advice and monitoring. Kluge said, about 100 new cases of the clade 2 ampox strain are now being reported every month in the European region.
