Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Monday said about India and China that both sides should trust rather than doubt each other; cooperate rather than compete with each other, news agency Reuters reported. He further said that the essence of the India-China equation lies in mutual success. He also reportedly told Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar that the two countries should make long-term plans.
Jaishankar met the Chinese Foreign Minister
On Monday, India's Foreign Minister S Jaishankar met Wang Yi in Beijing. During this, he said that a farsighted approach is needed for relations between the two countries.
Jaishankar said that since the meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Kazan, Russia in October 2024, relations between the two countries have improved. He further said that representatives of the two countries have met each other at international events and he hopes that such meetings can also take place in India and China.
The issue of India-China border was also raised
During this meeting, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar also raised the issue of border dispute between the two countries during his opening speech at the meeting. He said that relations between India and China have improved in the last nine months as a result of the resolution of border tensions. Jaishankar said that this is the basic foundation of mutual strategic trust.
