News Topical, Digital Desk : Why Stomach Growls: Has it ever happened to you that you are sitting with some people and suddenly your stomach starts making a sound. It feels quite embarrassing, but you cannot do anything to control it (Stomach Rumbling causes).
This is an involuntary reaction, over which we have no control. But the question arises as to why this happens (Reasons Behind Stomach Noise). Why does the stomach make noise when we are hungry? Let us try to find out the answer behind this.
Why does noise come from stomach?
Stomach noises are a sign of hunger. In fact, when the stomach is empty, the stomach muscles contract so that the gas and digestive fluid inside can be expelled. This movement of the muscles causes noises from the stomach. This process is called peristalsis. Although this movement always happens, but when the stomach is empty, the noise is louder. When the muscles contract due to an empty stomach, the sound produced by this movement comes out rapidly.
Hormones also play an important role
The hunger hormone ghrelin also plays a role in this. Ghrelin hormone is a hunger hormone, which signals the body that now there is a need to eat food. When the stomach is empty, the level of this hormone increases. Due to this, the muscles of the stomach contract more rapidly. Therefore the gurgling sound becomes louder.
Can stomach gurgling be reduced?
There is only one way to suppress this sound and that is to eat food. When you eat food, the sound of this movement of your stomach muscles reduces. This sound is suppressed due to food and we cannot hear it. But the movement of stomach muscles continues. So you must have understood that the gurgling sound coming from the stomach is nothing but a way of your body sending a message that now it is time to eat food.
However, sometimes stomach noises can also be due to some stomach related problem , such as gas, diarrhea, bloating or constipation. Sometimes stomach noises are also due to food intolerance. But usually stomach gurgling is not a matter of concern.
