National President Akhilesh Yadav has called a meeting of all party MPs at the party headquarters in Lucknow on Tuesday (January 20). The meeting will discuss the current state of the Assembly constituencies and the candidates for the SIR process. This high-level meeting of all MPs, ahead of the budget session, has created a stir in the state's politics.

According to party sources, Akhilesh Yadav is taking assembly-wise reports, which include discussions on the party's preparations and candidate claims. MPs attending the party meeting claimed that every topic that could help defeat the BJP would be discussed. SP MPs stated that the people of the state are suffering and are not being heard anywhere, and only the Samajwadi Party will be able to resolve their problems.

Important meeting before assembly elections

In the last Lok Sabha elections, the Samajwadi Party dealt a significant blow to the BJP by winning 37 seats. With just a year left for the Assembly elections, preparations have begun within the Samajwadi Party. Akhilesh Yadav is determined to avoid any setbacks this time, so every point is being discussed in the MPs' meeting to ensure the party's strong election performance.

The current SIR process is also gathering reports based on the Assembly. MPs are also being consulted on the candidates contesting the elections. The party is also expected to consult on several incidents occurring in the state. In particular, the sit-in protest in Prayagraj by saints and the vandalism at Manikarnika Ghat in Varanasi could be used as an issue to corner the BJP government.

Discussion on alliance

Along with the party's strategy, the SP is also expected to discuss contesting the elections in alliance with the India Alliance. In the last Lok Sabha elections, the Congress and the SP fought under the India Alliance, which proved beneficial. Recently, Akhilesh Yadav also spoke about contesting the elections in alliance with the Congress.

However, SP can also release a big program regarding the UP elections to be held after a year, so that the enthusiasm of the workers can be maintained.

SP MPs told what happened in the meeting?

After the meeting, SP MP Rajiv Rai said that discussions were held on how to free the people of Uttar Pradesh from the crumbling government, ensuring that it never returns, and how to hold them accountable for their crimes. Regarding the Prayagraj saint controversy, he said that the public will answer those who are wreaking havoc from Kashi to Prayagraj, driven by the arrogance of power.

Apart from this, SP MP Ziaurrahman Barq said, "We have held an important meeting so that we can fight the elections strongly and form our government. Our party is strong and united. With the trust and support of the people, all the MPs will work together to make Akhilesh Yadav the Chief Minister."
