News Topical, Digital Desk : The patience of the villagers of Panwadi development block of Mahoba district finally broke. Due to rain, the embankment of Verma river located on Panwadi to Naugaon Fadna road has been completely damaged. Due to the damage to the embankment, the connectivity of half a dozen villages has been completely cut off. Troubled by this problem, on Wednesday, the villagers entered the river under the banner of Bundelkhand Kisan Union and started Jal Satyagraha. The protesters said that they have to struggle with this problem every year but no concrete solution has been found.

Bundelkhand Kisan Union leader Pankaj Tiwari said that this Rapta is about 31 years old. Till date, no initiative has been taken to repair or reconstruct it. This Rapta gets submerged in water every time it rains, due to which about half a dozen villages like Naugaon Fadna, Budora, Baindo, Karhara are completely cut off from the connectivity. This not only affects the daily life of the farmers, but also makes it difficult to access health services, wages and market. Pankaj Tiwari said that due to waterlogging, students of villages are unable to go to school, and in case of emergency, even ambulances are unable to reach the villages. Villagers have complained to the administration several times, but no concrete steps have been taken so far. During the rainy season, there is so much waterlogging on this causeway that villagers have to travel by putting their lives at risk. Many accidents have also happened, but the administration is turning a blind eye. The Kisan Union has warned of a fierce agitation if the problem is not resolved soon.

Farmers demanded the construction of a bridge.
The farmers involved in the Jal Satyagraha say that the agitation will continue until a permanent solution to this problem is found. The farmers have demanded from the administration that the process of building a permanent bridge on the Verma river should be started as soon as possible, so that the villagers do not have to suffer this pain every year during the rains.
