News Topical, Digital Desk : We often bring beautiful idols of gods and goddesses to enhance our homes and bring positive energy. However, Vastu Shastra states that not every idol is suitable for the home. Sometimes, we buy idols simply for their aesthetic appeal, but they can actually disturb the energy of the home.
Avoid angry and aggressive behavior
According to Vastu Shastra, idols depicting fierce or angry deities should never be kept in the home. For example, the "Nataraja" form of Lord Shiva is a marvel of art, but it depicts his "Tandava," the dance of destruction. According to scriptures, keeping such an idol in the home can increase discord and mental stress. Similarly, a fierce form of Goddess Kali or a picture of Lord Hanuman burning Lanka can disturb the peace of the home.
Scenes of war and destruction
According to mythological beliefs, one should never keep pictures or statues related to war in the home. People often hang scenes from the Mahabharata or pictures of Lord Krishna preaching the Gita to Arjuna. While a picture depicting a sermon is fine, if it prominently depicts weapons and chariots of war, it can create ideological differences among family members.
Broken and old sculptures
According to Vastu, keeping a broken idol in the house is considered a major sin. If even a small corner of the idol is cracked or its paint has completely faded, it loses its positive energy. Such idols should be immediately removed and immersed in a holy river or placed under a Peepal tree.
Avoid these special idols as well
According to Vastu principles, idols of Shani Dev, Rahu, and Ketu should not be installed inside the home. Worshiping them in a temple is considered best. Furthermore, avoid placing two idols of the same deity facing each other or with their backs touching. This position prevents the flow of wealth into the home.
Some important rules for home temple:
Sitting Posture: Always bring idols of God in sitting and smiling posture in the house.
Not bigger than the thumb: The size of the idol kept in the home temple should not be too big, an idol equal to the thumb is considered the best.
Do not face each other: Never place the idols facing each other.
Cleanliness: Statues covered in dust or cobwebs create negative energy.
