Uttar-Pradesh News : Two houses collapsed late at night in the Yellow Zone near Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi. This accident took place at Khoya Gali intersection of Chowk police station area. More than five people are feared to be trapped under the debris due to the collapse of two houses. Women are also among those buried under the debris of the houses. 

Gate number 4 of the temple was closed

Administrative officials and NDRF team are carrying out rescue operations on the spot. Gate number 4 leading to Kashi Vishwanath temple has been closed since the accident. Visitors going to the temple are being allowed entry through gate number one and two.

70 year old house

According to the information, the houses of Rajesh Gupta and Manish Gupta were adjacent to each other, situated above the famous Jawahar Saav Kachori Wala at Khoya Gali crossing. Both the houses are said to be 70 years old. Both the houses collapsed late at night.

Rescue operation is being carried out

The local people immediately informed the administration about the incident. The entry road leading to the street was closed. The officials who reached the spot have closed the entry of visitors from Gate No. 4 going to the temple from Maidagin and Godaulia. The NDRF team is currently carrying out rescue operations at the site of the incident.
