Laxmipur/Maharajganj. The vigilance team caught the Chakbandi Lekhpal Amarnath Prasad of Chautarwa of Purandarpur police station red handed while taking a bribe of 20 thousand rupees near Mohanpur railway crossing on Wednesday. The action of the vigilance team created a stir in the department.  

This is the whole matter

Inspector Shivaji Rao, in-charge of the trap team of Uttar Pradesh Vigilance Establishment Gorakhpur, said that the complainant Ramji Yadav of Nautanwa tehsil had lodged a complaint on August 13. He told that his land is located in village Gujrawalia Shankar Mishra police station Kolhui, Maharajganj. 

The consolidation process of land has been going on for the last four years. To complete the area and mark the land, the Assistant Consolidation Officer went to the office of Village Chautarwa and met the concerned accountant Amarnath Prasad, for which the accountant demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000. 

Lekhpal is a resident of Deoria

After this, the team arrested Consolidation Accountant Amarnath Prasad from near Mohanpur railway crossing at around 4 pm while taking a bribe of 20 thousand rupees. The accused accountant is a resident of Patna village of Deoria. 

The vigilance team included Inspector Ram Ujagir, Inspector Hausila Prasad, Inspector Mahendra Prasad, Inspector Sudhir Kumar Soni, Omprakash Mishra, Pradeep Kumar Yadav, Vijay Shankar Dubey, Ishwar Narayan Yadav, Krishna Kumar Singh. 

Police filed a case

Purandarpur's in-charge police station chief Sunil Verma said that a complaint has been received in the matter. A case has been registered. District Magistrate Anunay Jha said that as soon as the copy of the FIR is received, action will be taken to suspend the accused accountant.
