Lucknow. Light and heavy vehicles going to Nadarganj Industrial Area will now be able to go directly through the service lane. Especially vehicles coming from Kanpur to Lucknow will not have to face the trouble of getting stuck in the traffic jam at the intersection.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is going to build a small flyover at Amausi crossing. This will ensure that traffic going to Lucknow and Kanpur will not get stuck in traffic jams, while vehicles going to Nadarganj Industrial Area will be able to go directly through the service lane. This effort will help in controlling the traffic jams here to a great extent.

Only 10 percent of local traffic

At present, 90 percent of the vehicles travel from Lucknow to Kanpur and Kanpur to Lucknow. Ten percent of the traffic is local. This flyover will be only 70 meters long, but will play a major role in speeding up the vehicles. Vehicles coming from different states to the industrial area will not get stuck in traffic jams. The flyover being built at Nadarganj crossing is a part of the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway. The aim of NHAI is that the speed of vehicles between Lucknow and Kanpur should not slow down and the 63 km journey should be completed in 40 minutes. This flyover will help in speeding up the expressway. The flyover will also be helpful for air passengers going to Kanpur, Unnao and other destinations from Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport. They will also save time in going to and coming from the airport.

Work on the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway is to be completed by July 2025

NHAI has set a target to complete the work of the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway by July 2025. At present, 60 percent of the work has been completed. NHAI is building an 18 km elevated route from Sainik School to Bani. Beyond this, a 45 km six-lane road is being built in the green field.
