New Delhi. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget for the financial year 2024-25 in Parliament on Tuesday, on which opposition parties protested even before the discussion on Wednesday. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has taken a dig at the lack of any special announcements for UP in the budget.
Akhilesh Yadav said, "Instead of giving the support price to the farmers, they are giving it to the alliance partners... Uttar Pradesh was shown big dreams, what did Uttar Pradesh get?"
The SP chief said, "If there is a double engine government, then there should have been double benefit, benefit of Delhi and benefit of Lucknow but it seems that Delhi is no longer looking towards Lucknow or the people of Lucknow have angered the people of Delhi and its result is visible in the budget. If development is going to Bihar, then why is Uttar Pradesh being left out? If the flood of Bihar has to be stopped, then how will you stop the flood of Bihar without stopping the flood of Nepal and Uttar Pradesh? If you first stop the flood of Uttar Pradesh and Nepal, then the flood of Bihar will stop automatically."
This is just a drama: Jaya Bachchan
Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan said, "I have no reaction. This is no budget to react to. This is just a drama. The promises will remain on paper and will not be implemented." She said, "We just want them (the Centre) to speak the truth and not mislead the youth of the country... How will they create jobs? They have misled the states as well. Even Bihar has been misled, nothing has been given to the state."
