Himpur/Bijnor: The forest department has achieved a great success by capturing the leopard in the cage placed in the forest. The leopard trapped in the cage had created terror in Pilaana and the nearby villages. According to forest department officials, the captured leopard had killed two women and a farmer.

The leopard had created terror in the villages of Sisuna, Pilana and Jalalpur Bhud near Kulchana village situated on Haldaur road. Within a month, the leopard had killed two women in the forest of Pilana and a farmer in Jalalpur Bhud.

Leopards were also seen around Kulchana village for the last few days. On the complaint of villagers who were scared of seeing leopards often on the roadside and near the population, a cage was installed there by the forest department on Monday itself.

Leopard was seen trapped in the cage in the morning

When the villagers passed by there on Wednesday morning, they saw the leopard in the cage and informed the forest department officials about it. The villagers felt relieved after the leopard was caged. The forest department team, which arrived on the information of the villagers, rescued the leopard locked in the cage and took it to the range office.

Forest Officer Dushyant Kumar Mavi said that the leopard trapped in the cage had killed two women in the forest of village Pilaana and a farmer in the forest of Jalalpur Bhud.

SDO Gyan Singh said that the lower canine teeth of the leopard were broken. Due to this, it was unable to hunt bigger or more agile animals and it attacked humans and killed them.
