The week-long religious discourse marks the 57th death anniversary of Yugpurusha Brahmalin Mahant Digvijaynath Ji Maharaj and the 12th death anniversary of Rashtrasant Brahmalin Mahant Avedyanath Ji Maharaj, drawing revered monastic leaders and thousands of pilgrims to Gorakhpur.

Speaking to the congregation inside the Digvijaynath Smriti Bhawan auditorium following traditional worship of the Vyaspeeth, CM Yogi noted that lasting success and mental equanimity depend on internal congruence. When an individual's thoughts, spoken words, and physical conduct move in a singular, unconflicted direction, clarity of purpose naturally follows. Conversely, a rift between values and actions plunges a person into acute cognitive dissonance—leaving them paralyzed between what to do and what to abandon, a precarious state colloquially described as being "neither at home nor at the riverbank." Welcoming the presiding spiritual orator, Malukpeethadhiswar Shrimad Jagadguru Dwaracharya Agrapeethadhiswar Swami Shri Rajendradas Ji Maharaj from Vrindavan, the Chief Minister highlighted that the oral tradition of the Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran has sustained human consciousness across five millennia. Ever since Sage Shukdev first expounded these cosmic truths to King Parikshit on the banks of the sacred Ganga, the living narrative has weathered geopolitical shifts, cultural transitions, and adverse centuries without losing its spiritual potency. The scripture continues to serve as an enduring fountainhead for the synthesis of Gyana (discernment), Bhakti (unwavering devotion), and Nishkama Karma (selfless, dedicated action).
Sacred Vedic Procession and Consecration of the Akhand Jyoti
The auspicious assembly commenced earlier in the day with a ceremonial procession led personally by CM Yogi Adityanath, carrying the holy scripture from the primary sanctum sanctorum of the Gorakhnath Temple to the Digvijaynath Smriti Bhawan auditorium. Accompanied by the resonant blowing of conch shells and the rhythmic chanting of Vedic hymns by Vedic scholars, the ceremony proceeded to the formal installation of the sacred Akhand Jyoti (eternal flame). Following the presentation of a commemorative postage stamp by Swami Rajendradas Devacharya to CM Yogi, the daily katha sessions commenced, running from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM through its culmination on September 29.
