News Topical, Digital Desk : US President Donald Trump has condemned government lawyers pursuing corruption cases against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in court.

Trump has said that America gives billions of dollars in aid to Israel for its welfare, that aid is not for such baseless activities. Meanwhile, on Sunday, the court has postponed the hearing of Netanyahu's cases for a week.

what is the matter

Cases of bribery, fraud and breach of trust have been going on against Netanyahu since 2019. These cases are now being heard in court since 2020 after investigations by government agencies.

Netanyahu's lawyers on Friday asked the court to postpone the prime minister's appearance in court for two weeks, citing the tensions created by the Gaza war and the recently concluded 12-day war with Iran.

what did the court order

Earlier the court had rejected his appeal but on Sunday the court postponed the hearing for a week. Netanyahu had to appear in court on Monday and answer the questions of the prosecutors.

The district court has halted the trial based on the reasons given by Netanyahu, the head of the intelligence agency Mossad and the head of the military intelligence agency.

What did Trump say?

Earlier, Trump had said on the internet media that such a hearing would affect the quality of Netanyahu's action against Hamas and Iran. Netanyahu has thanked Trump for supporting him in this way.
