He said that the BJP government has completely ruined the power system in its eight-year tenure. The condition of electricity in the state has become so bad that the public is troubled and is facing power cuts every day.
Akhilesh Yadav said that the BJP government neither installed any new power plant to increase power generation nor improved the transmission system. He said, “Due to the negligence of the BJP government, transformers are blowing up, wires are falling and there is no electricity for hours in villages and towns. The government is not listening to them, the public is distressed and is protesting at sub-stations at various places.”
Former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said that power plants were set up during the SP government and emphasis was laid on increasing power generation. He said that whatever power we are getting today is the result of the work done during our government.
He alleged that the BJP government is now hatching a conspiracy to sell the electricity department and hand it over to private hands. “This government is not focused on improving electricity, but selling the departments and earning commission has become its sole motive,” he also said that the BJP government is intimidating the employees of the electricity department.
There is corruption and looting everywhere- Akhilesh Yadav
Akhilesh Yadav called the BJP government the most corrupt government ever. He said that corruption and loot is rampant everywhere in the state. "There is no honesty left in the BJP government, nor are public welfare works being done. People are troubled by the shortage of electricity and water, but the government is only focused on its own benefits,"
There is huge resentment among the public over the power crisis
It is worth noting that for the last few days, there has been a lot of resentment among the public regarding the power crisis in Uttar Pradesh. There are reports of unannounced power cuts from many districts. People are suffering due to lack of electricity in this summer season. At the same time, the government claims that efforts are being made to improve power supply, but the ground reality is the opposite. In such a situation, Akhilesh Yadav's allegations have increased the problems of the government. Politics has heated up over the power crisis and the opposition has made it a big issue.
