News Topical, Digital Desk : The Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025 is starting from Saturday (August 02) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium (Feroz Shah Kotla Ground) in the national capital, which will continue till August 31. Day-night matches will be played during the league. A large number of spectators can reach the stadium to watch them. In view of this, the Delhi Traffic Police has announced some important traffic restrictions and route changes.

According to this advisory issued by Delhi Traffic Police, changes have been made in the traffic system around the stadium and on the main roads during the matches, so that the safety and convenience of the spectators can be ensured. People have been appealed to use public transport during this time and avoid the routes near the stadium if not necessary, so that the traffic remains smooth.

Changes made on these main routes

● The direction of traffic will be changed on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg and JLN Marg.
● There will be a complete ban on the movement of heavy vehicles from Daryaganj to Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg and Guru Nanak Chowk to Asaf Ali Road.
● Changes have also been made in the banned routes on JLN Marg from Rajghat to R/A Kamala Market via Delhi Gate, Asaf Ali Road from Turkman Gate to Delhi Gate, and Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg from Delhi Gate to Ramcharan Aggarwal Chowk.

Entry and parking for spectators

Various gates have been designated for entry into the stadium: 

  • Gate numbers 1 to 8: Located in the southern part of the stadium and entry from these gates will be from Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg.
  • Gate numbers 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15: Located on the eastern side of the stadium, and entry from these gates will be from JLN Marg, near the Ambedkar Stadium Bus Terminal.
  • Gate numbers 16, 17 and 18: Located on the western side of the stadium and entry from these gates will be from Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, near the petrol pump.

Parking Facilities

Parking space near the stadium will be limited. Only labelled vehicles will be allowed entry to the designated parking spaces. Parking lots are located at P1- JP Park opposite Gate No. 3, P2- Vikram Nagar parking, near Shahidi Park and P3- near JGB/Prayas office for two-wheelers. Apart from this, free parking facility will be available on Mata Sundari Road, Rajghat Power House Road, and Veledrome Road.

Parking is prohibited on these streets

Parking of vehicles will be prohibited on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, JLN Marg and Ring Road (from Rajghat to IP Flyover). If any driver parks his vehicle on these roads, his vehicle will be towed and legal action will be taken against him.

Taxi Pickup & Drop Points

Exclusive pick and drop points have been set up for app-based services like auto-rickshaws and cabs during the match, located at Maulana Azad Medical College, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg (on the ITO to Delhi Gate carriageway) and Rajghat Chowk towards Gate No. 2.
