Manjeet Kumar Gautam called the Mumbai Police control room and threatened to blow up the Mumbai International Airport by 2 pm on Tuesday. After this, the Mumbai Police swung into action and arrested the accused person.

The accused is a resident of Uttar Pradesh and lives in Sakinaka area of Mumbai. After arresting the caller, the police started further investigation. Earlier, on May 19, a threatening call was received on Mumbai Police's helpline room number 112. The caller claimed that a person in Mumbai's JJ Marg area was talking about blowing up Mumbai with a bomb.
Actually, a person named Rajiv Singh had given this information by calling on the Mumbai Police helpline. The caller claimed that he heard a person in Mumbai's JJ Marg area talking about bombing Mumbai. He informed the police about this matter.
Case filed for spreading rumors
According to Mumbai Police, after receiving information about the threatening call, the local police and bomb squad team were alerted, but after investigation nothing suspicious was found, after which the police registered a case against Rajiv Singh for spreading rumors.
Earlier, on February 11 this year, Mumbai's Chembur Police Station had received a bomb threat. Mumbai's Bandra GRP received a threatening call. The unknown caller said that the Chembur Police Station would be blown up with a bomb. Immediately after this, the caller disconnected the call.
Bandra GRP informed ATS, Bomb Squad and local police station about the threatening call, after which they reached the spot and searched the police station. However, they did not find anything suspicious.
