News Topical, Digital Desk : In Hindi cinema, villains are as much praised as heroes. Often, villains' characters became so popular that audiences loved them. Even in the 90s, there were many Bollywood villains who, while at one point more famous than the heroes, were considered synonymous with terror. Today, we'll tell you the story of one such villain, whose mere name would silence even the bravest of men.

How did Ramy Reddy become the villain of Hindi cinema?

In Hindi cinema, from Amrish Puri to Gulshan Grover and Shakti Kapoor, there have been many villains who scared the audience a lot, but in the meantime, there came a villain who played very few characters in which he was not scary and this name is Rami Reddy.

Ramy Reddy, who has appeared in numerous films from South and Bollywood, was born on January 1, 1959, in Chittoor district. He never wanted to pursue acting. He studied journalism in Hyderabad, eventually becoming a journalist and working for a newspaper. This was the beginning of his career.

Interviewed the director and got the film

During his journalism career, he used to interview many people. One such interview changed his fortunes. He once interviewed renowned South Indian director Kodi Ramakrishna. The director was so impressed that he immediately offered him a role in his film. Then, he immediately landed a chance to work in films. Director Kodi Ramakrishna signed Rami to play the villain in the 1989 film “Spot Nana.”

The film was such a superhit that it was remade in Kannada as well as Hindi. Interestingly, Ramy Reddy played the villain in both films. Spot Nana was remade in Hindi as Pratibandhan. This also marked his Hindi film debut. This gave Ramy Reddy the opportunity to work in both South Indian and Hindi films.

Bollywood made him a superhit villain

While working in Hindi films, Ramy Reddy began receiving significant roles. He played a villain in almost every major film of that era, and filmmakers were quick to sign him for roles. Ramy Reddy played villains in films like "Dilwale," "Andolan," "Loha," "Gunda," "Shapath," "Ailaan," and countless others, all of which were hits. In the film "Waqt Hamara Hai," Ramy Reddy played Colonel Chikara, a role that became memorable for audiences.

This is how Rami Reddy died

By the year 2000, Rami Reddy had appeared in several films, but during this period, he began to appear in fewer films. Meanwhile, he starred in a Telugu film called Guruvaram, and surprisingly, Rami, who often captivated audiences with his villainous roles, played Sai Baba in this film.

Meanwhile, Ramy Reddy's health began to deteriorate. He became increasingly ill, and then it was suddenly discovered that he was suffering from liver cancer. His weight steadily decreased, and he became a mere skeleton. In his final days, he became extremely ill and unrecognizable. He was neither getting films nor receiving offers. Filmmakers also avoided him, as his condition had deteriorated significantly. Finally, on April 14, 2011, Ramy Reddy passed away.

He starred in major films...achieved fame and recognition...but fate changed everything. No one could have imagined that Rami, who so captivated audiences with his on-screen portrayals, would find himself in such a state in his final moments. But Rami Reddy remains one of Hindi cinema's few villains, one who will always be remembered.
