However, the company will pay a dividend of ₹16 per share to its shareholders. The loss is due to rising operating costs and market competition. The company plans to reduce costs and strengthen its market position in the future.
Vedanta's revenue increased 5.4% to ₹39,868 crore, compared to ₹37,824 crore in the previous year. Ebitda increased 14.9% to ₹11,397 crore, compared to ₹9,918 crore in the previous year. Margins declined to 28.6% from 26.2%. Net profit fell 44% to ₹1,798 crore, compared to ₹3,185 crore in the previous year.
Vedanta's aluminum business reported EBITDA of ₹5,532 crore, oil and gas business EBITDA of ₹1,029 crore, and zinc international business EBITDA of ₹373 crore. Following the announcement of Vedanta's Q2 results, the stock fell 2.1% to trade at ₹496.15.
Vedanta declares Rs 16 dividend in Q2 results
During the quarter ended September 30, 2025, the Board of Directors of the Company, at its meeting held on August 21, 2025, has approved a second interim dividend of ₹1/ per equity share of face value ₹16 for the financial year 2025-26. With this, the total dividend declared for the financial year 2025-26 currently stands at ₹23/ per equity share.
